Job Description
We are looking for an Accounts Receivable Specialist to join a manufacturing organization in Frederica, Delaware in a contract-to-permanent capacity. This opportunity is well suited for someone who enjoys detailed financial work, can manage a steady volume of transactions, and communicates effectively when resolving account issues. The position supports core receivables and accounting activities while offering training for candidates who bring a solid foundation in accounting and a willingness to learn.
Responsibilities:
• Enter financial transactions and supporting details into accounting systems with a high degree of speed and accuracy.
• Generate customer invoices, verify billing information, and ensure charges are recorded using standard U.S. currency conventions.
• Post incoming payments to open receivables and keep account balances current through timely cash application.
• Follow up with customers regarding overdue balances and document collection efforts thoroughly.
• Assist with both accounts receivable and accounts payable tasks as needed to support daily accounting operations.
• Organize and maintain digital financial records so documentation remains complete, accessible, and audit-ready.
• Contribute to month-end activities by helping reconcile accounts and preparing information needed for closing procedures.
• Work directly with internal colleagues to investigate discrepancies and resolve billing or payment issues efficiently.
• Complete remote onboarding and participate in any additional in-person training sessions available for local team members.
• At least 3 years of experience in accounts receivable, billing, cash application, collections, or related accounting support work.• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or a related discipline preferred; candidates nearing degree completion or entry-level candidates with relevant knowledge are also welcome.
• Working understanding of foundational accounting principles and standard financial processes.
• Ability to stay focused while performing repetitive, high-volume data entry without sacrificing accuracy.
• Strong attention to detail and solid organizational habits in managing financial information.
• Comfortable working independently, prioritizing tasks, and staying productive in a primarily remote environment.
• Basic proficiency with Microsoft Excel and familiarity with accounting systems or financial software.
• Previous exposure to invoicing, commercial collections, billing functions, or cash activity is beneficial but not required.
