Physician - Locum Tenens OB/GYN - Socorro, NM (MG)

We are seeking a Board Certified or Board Eligible OB/GYN for an ongoing Locum Tenens coverage role at Socorro NM

Assignment Details & Schedule

• Assignment Dates: Tentative Start Date October 26, 2026 (Ongoing need through 2026–2027)
• Clinic Hours: Monday – Friday (08:00 – 17:00)
• Call Schedule:
• • Daytime Call: On-call while working in clinic (08:00 – 17:00)
  • Night Call: 17:00 – 08:00
  • Weekend Call: Friday 17:00 – Monday 08:00
• Specific Dates Needed:
• • Nov 2026: Nov 15 (@ 06:00), Nov 23 (@ 08:00)
  • Dec 2026: Dec 2, Dec 3, Dec 4, Dec 7, Dec 9, Dec 11, Dec 12, Dec 13, Dec 17, Dec 18, Dec 19, Dec 20, Dec 26, Dec 27, Dec 29, Dec 30, Dec 31 (@ 08:00 start)
  • Jan 2027: All dates open except Jan 4, Jan 18, and Jan 21
• Worksite Setting: Inpatient Hospital & Outpatient Clinic (Socorro General Hospital)
• Caseload & Volume:
• • Clinic: <15 patients per day
  • Deliveries: 8–10 deliveries per month (mostly low risk; 21% C-section rate)
• Support Staff & Team: 2 OB/GYNs, RN, MA, plus C-section assist when on call
• EMR System: Epic

Requirements

• Board Certification: BC or BE in OB/GYN (must achieve certification within 5 years of residency training)
• Licensure: Active New Mexico State Medical License (or ability to obtain)
• Privileging Criteria (Case Logs Required): Must supply case logs reflecting at least 50 vaginal deliveries, 20 C-sections, and 25 gynecological surgical procedures (including at least 5 major abdominal cases) in the past 12 months
• Required Procedures & Skills:
• • Labor & Delivery: Low-risk/complicated pregnancies, FHR interpretation (NST/CST/FSE), OB ultrasounds (Level I/II), routine/complicated deliveries, repair of 3rd/4th degree lacerations
  • Gynecology: Surgical gynecology (D&C, Hysterectomy, etc.), laparoscopic diagnostic/minor, and major operative procedures
• Additional Requirements: Contagious disease workforce immunity compliance and offsite drug screening prior to start
