Nanny- New Canaan, CT

A New Canaan family is seeking a warm, energetic, and engaging nanny to care for their two children, ages 6 and 2. The ideal candidate will be active, creative, and a true partner to a hands-on mother, helping create a fun, structured, and nurturing environment for the children. The family has a busy schedule and is looking for someone flexible, dependable, discreet, and comfortable with occasional schedule changes, overnight stays, and family travel. The household also has three cats, so comfort with pets is essential.

Responsibilities

• Provide attentive, nurturing care for two children, ages 6 and 2.
• Create a safe and engaging environment that supports the childrens development.
• Plan meals, prepare food, and assist with feeding.
• Organize indoor and outdoor play, educational activities, crafts, and outings.
• Drive the children to school, activities, playdates, and other engagements, primarily using the familys vehicle.
• Read with the children and encourage age-appropriate learning and independence.
• Keep childrens bedrooms and play areas organized.
• Maintain daily logs and provide parents with regular updates and photos.
• Assist with occasional family errands, including errands related to the children and pets.
• Collaborate closely with the mother to ensure consistency in the childrens routines and care.
• Provide occasional evening, weekend, and overnight care as needed.
• Travel with the family during vacations and assist with childcare while away.

Qualifications

• Energetic, engaging, and proactive, with a fun, active approach to childcare.
• Strong understanding of child development and the ability to support childrens social and emotional needs.
• Excellent judgment, emotional maturity, discretion, and respect for family privacy.
• Willingness to work overtime, weekends, evenings, and overnight stays.
• Willingness to travel with the family; a valid passport is strongly preferred.
• Comfortable around cats.
• Valid drivers license and a clean driving record.

Schedule
The family is open to either of the following Monday - Friday schedules: 12:00 PM - 8:00 PM, or 8:00 AM - 7:00 PM. Candidate must be open to additional weekend hours and have flexibility for overnight care and travel as well.
