Preschool Teacher Job Description

Qualification Requirements:

*Must  meet at  least  one   of  the   following  three   educational/experience  requirements:

1.Bachelor's   Degree    (in    any   major;teaching    certificate   preferred)

2.Associate   degree   in   Education   or   Early   Childhood   Education

3.Previous   Experience  teaching   in   Christian   Educationor   Early   Childhood   Education   setting (birth to  5  years  old)

o  Regular   attendee  of  a  church  and  a  baptized  believer

o  Sign  a  statement  of  agreement  to   Spencer  Christian  Church's  statement  of  faith

o  Completed  application  from  Spencer  Christian  School  and  resume

o      References:previous       employer,personal,minister/church       leader

o   Approved   background    check

Salary:

*Hourly rate dependent on experience(weekly planning time included)

Responsibilities:

□ Attend teacher training week in August before school starts back;work last week of school to clean up room for summer and parent/teacher conferences.

□ Workday 8:30AM-3:45PM Tuesday-Thursday for 32 weeks of preschool

o There are a few special events during the year outside of school hours that teachers are asked to attend (Beginning of school Bash,new parent

meeting/Open  house,Christmas  program)

□ Assess  students  on  a  regular  basis(fall,winter  &spring)

□ Meet with parents for parent/teacher conferences once each semester(Fall and Spring)

□ Follow curriculum map for weekly themes,letters and Bible lessons in order to cover all learning objectives for the school
