Job Title

Travel RN – Medical Surgical (Nights)

Location

Henderson, NC | Acute Care

Schedule / Job Type

Contract | 13 Weeks | Nights (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM) | Onsite | Expected 36 hours/week

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care on a 48-bed Medical Surgical unit with a 1:6 patient ratio
• Perform IV insertions, foley catheter insertions, and NG tube insertions
• Administer and monitor heparin drips and perform EKGs
• Maintain accurate documentation using the Paragon EHR system
• Work weekends as needed; occasional float to inpatient rehab or ER for task-based support (rare)
• Maintain compliance with all required certifications including NIH Stroke Scale, ACLS, and BLS

Required Qualifications

• Active RN license valid in North Carolina (or Compact license)
• BLS, ACLS, and NIH Stroke Scale certifications required
• Minimum 1 year of Medical Surgical nursing experience
• At least 1 prior travel assignment completed
• Proficiency in IV starts, foley catheter insertion, NG tube insertion, EKG performance, and heparin drip management
• Must live at least 60 miles from the facility to be eligible for travel rates

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience working in a high-turnover Med Surg environment with a 1:6 patient ratio
• Familiarity with the Paragon electronic health record system
• Comfort working in a fast-paced, high-acuity inpatient setting
