Recycling Sorter

Pay: $17.00 per hour
Schedule: 10:00 AM–7:30 PM

We are hiring Sorters to inspect and separate recyclable materials on a conveyor line. This is a hands-on position at an outdoor work site with exposure to dirt, odors, noise, and changing weather conditions.

Job Responsibilities

* Inspect and sort materials by type, size, condition, color, or paper grade.
* Remove contaminants from paper, the conveyor line, and surrounding floors.
* Stack boxes and pallets, empty boxes and totes, and load materials onto the conveyor.
* Clean the conveyor, sorting line, and surrounding work area.
* Read the machine monitor during startup and check that equipment runs properly at the appropriate speed.
* Follow standard procedures for operating and maintaining equipment.
* Report equipment problems and safety concerns.
* Attend safety and operations meetings and perform other assigned duties.

Qualifications and Physical Requirements

* High school diploma and related experience; at least 3 months of experience or training preferred.
* Ability to perform repetitive hand movements and handle objects weighing less than 30 pounds during part of the workday.
* Comfortable working outdoors with exposure to dirt, odors, noise, and extreme temperatures.
* Work may occasionally involve hazards such as cuts, burns, or exposure to chemicals.
* No licenses or certifications required.

Required Work Attire

* 6-inch steel-toe boots, long-sleeve shirt, and long pants.
* No hoodies, long hanging jewelry, or clothing with rips or tears.
