Instructional Aide - Toms River, NJ

Make a positive impact supporting young learners in a dynamic elementary environment as a contract paraprofessional. This opportunity is based in a Pre-K–8th grade school setting, serving students within a strong, close-knit team. The current opening focuses on assisting 1st–3rd graders within a Moderate Disabilities (MD) Program.

You’ll work alongside an experienced classroom teacher and a seasoned paraprofessional, supporting a caseload of 5–6 students. The group consists of higher-functioning children with academically focused needs and no physical behavior challenges. You’ll contribute to a welcoming, engaging classroom, fully equipped with brand-new furniture, a recently renovated playground, a dedicated sensory room, and the support of an on-site School Resource Officer. The school’s inviting atmosphere and recent program launch create a collaborative environment ideal for professionals ready to make a difference.

Key Qualifications:

• Experience as a paraprofessional or similar support role within a school setting
• Understanding of basic academic interventions and strategies for students with moderate disabilities
• Ability to work cooperatively in a team-oriented environment
• Strong organizational and communication skills
• Patience, empathy, and a student-centered approach to education

Responsibilities include:

• Assisting with the delivery of structured academic activities
• Supporting individualized education plans (IEPs) as directed
• Maintaining a positive, inclusive, and structured learning environment
• Helping to facilitate smooth transitions and classroom routines
• Collaborating closely with teacher, other paraprofessional, and related service providers

This contract position offers a pay rate of $20.00 per hour, with the benefit of working in a newly updated facility surrounded by a supportive team and resources. Ample street parking is available in the local Springdale neighborhood.
