Responsibilities:

• Support a kindergarten student with visual impairment throughout the school morning.
• Assist with safety needs during classroom activities and transitions, ensuring a secure environment.
• Provide braille support and adaptations under the guidance of a vision specialist and the RSP Teacher.
• Collaborate with the classroom and special education staff to implement accommodations.
• Encourage independence, engagement, and participation in daily activities.
• Maintain clear, compassionate communication with students, educators, and support personnel.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Previous experience as a paraprofessional, or in special education support, highly preferred.
• Comfort or familiarity working with students with visual impairments; knowledge of braille is advantageous.
• Ability to follow directions from specialists and adapt quickly to changing needs.
• Patience, empathy, and dedication to student-centered support.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
