Teacher's Aide - Pittston, Pennsylvania

Step into a meaningful role supporting student growth and daily school life as a Personal Care Aide. This contract position spans grades from elementary to high school, offering the chance to make a difference in classrooms throughout Scranton, PA. You’ll serve where your help is needed most across a diverse caseload, working onsite for 35 hours each week through the school year.

Key Qualifications:

• Previous experience as a Paraprofessional or Personal Care Aide in educational settings is highly valued
• Familiarity with supporting students with special needs (Autism, Emotional Support, etc.) is a plus
• Valid Pennsylvania credentialing required, including:
  • Act 151 PA Child Abuse Clearance
  • Act 114 FBI Fingerprinting
  • Act 126 Child Abuse Recognition and Reporting Certificate
  • PATCH/Act 134 State Police background check
• 2-Step TB Test (or Quantiferon TB Blood Test)
• Recent physical (within 60 days prior to start)
• Drug screening per required instructions
• Act 168 paperwork (if previous work involved children)
• References and updated resume

Responsibilities:

• Work 1:1 or in small groups with students, fostering independence and engagement
• Implement strategies provided by teachers and specialists for students receiving special services
• Support academic, social, and behavioral needs as directed
• Help maintain a safe and welcoming learning environment
• Communicate effectively with educators and administrators

Onsite assignments are determined by district needs and schools may vary. You’ll have an opportunity to indicate your preferred school, but final placements are at the discretion of the district to ensure support where it’s most essential.
