Medical Assistant

Facility: FMC (Federal Medical Center) Devens 

Duration: Base 1 year + Option 4 years 

Schedule: 6:00 am and 4:30 pm, Monday Through Friday 40hurs work a week  

Start Date: ASAP 

Pay Rate: $28.72 (base salary $23.63 + H&W $5.09) 

Job Description: 

• The contractor shall perform Medical Assistant duties, including but not limited to:

• Taking patient medical histories and preparing medical data for provider visits. 

• Preparing pertinent forms for physicians and/or Advanced Practice Providers.  

• Maintaining office and patient care-related supplies.  

• Performing and recording patient vital signs in the electronic medical record.  

• Filing/scanning medical records and providing patient education.  

• Assisting with initial patient triage and chronic care clinics.  

• Preparing exam rooms and assisting in minor surgical and diagnostic procedures.  

• Assisting providers during examinations by handing instruments and performing basic procedures.  

• Answering phones and managing patient requests.  

• Educating patients on basic health conditions and treatment plans.  

• Scheduling patient appointments. 

Required Educational and Experience: 

High school diploma or equivalent (GED). 

Completion of a Medical Assistant training program from an accredited institution  

Preferred.  

1 year of experience in a healthcare setting preferred.  

Certification preferred: CMA, RMA, NCMA, or CCMA.  

CPR/BLS certification required
