General Laborer / Facilities Maintenance Technician

$20-$24/Hour | Day Shift | Schenectady, NY

Schedule

Monday-Friday: 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM

Rotational on-call schedule approximately once per month.

Additional overtime opportunities available.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine maintenance, repairs, and property improvements.
• Complete preventive maintenance inspections to identify and address potential problems.
• Respond to maintenance requests and work orders in a timely, professional manner.
• Maintain lighting, locks, doors, fixtures, and common-area building systems.
• Perform exterior property maintenance, including landscaping, snow removal, pressure washing, and site upkeep.
• Participate in a rotating on-call schedule for emergency maintenance situations.
• Track completed repairs and update work orders accurately.
• Maintain tools, equipment, and maintenance inventory.
• Communicate professionally with residents, property managers, vendors, and contractors.

Required Qualifications

• 6+ months of experience in facilities maintenance, property maintenance, construction, or a skilled trade.
• Hands-on experience with plumbing, electrical, HVAC, carpentry, painting, appliance repair, or remodeling work.
• Ability to safely operate hand tools, power tools, and maintenance equipment.
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work indoors and outdoors year-round.
• Strong customer service and communication skills.

This is a Permanent position based out of Schenectady, NY.

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $24.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
