Special Education Teacher | Summerville, South Carolina

Make an impact supporting elementary students as a Special Education Teacher on a contract basis at multiple schools in a welcoming community near Summerville, SC. Opportunities available in a range of classroom settings—Resource/Co-Teach, Cross Categorical Self Contained, and Autism programs—in several vibrant elementary schools. Assignments begin as soon as possible and extend through June 4th, 2027, offering consistent, full-time hours.

Qualifications and Desired Experience:

• Valid South Carolina Teaching License; required for consideration
• Special Education certification and expertise supporting diverse learning needs
• Comfortable working in resource/co-teach classrooms, cross categorical self-contained, or autism-specific instructional settings
• Professional commitment to fostering inclusive, supportive learning environments for K–5 students
• Strong collaboration skills to partner effectively with general educators, specialists, and families

Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement individualized education programs (IEPs) tailored to each student’s needs
• Deliver high-quality instruction in Resource/Co-Teach, Cross Categorical Self Contained, and Autism classrooms at select elementary schools
• Utilize evidence-based practices to support students’ academic, behavioral, and social development
• Engage actively in data collection, progress monitoring, and goal setting
• Participate in IEP meetings and communicate progress with families and staff
• Create a positive, respectful classroom climate to empower every learner
