Outpatient Pharmacist | Sheldon, Iowa

A retail pharmacist opportunity is available within a 340B retail pharmacy located inside a critical access hospital in Sheldon, IA. This contract role offers the chance to work in a close-knit pharmacy environment consisting of one pharmacist and two technicians, serving an average prescription volume of 140 per day.

Pharmacy hours are Monday through Thursday, 8:00 am to 6:30 pm, and Friday from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm. While on-call duties are possible, they are rarely required. The pharmacy utilizes the Pioneer computer system and does not have automation or mail order services.

Key Responsibilities:

• Accurately dispense prescription medications and counsel patients regarding medication usage
• Collaborate with pharmacy technicians to ensure smooth pharmacy operations
• Maintain compliance with all regulatory and safety requirements, particularly within the 340B program framework
• Monitor prescription volume and maintain quality standards under a high workload environment

Qualifications and Experience:

• Minimum of 1 year recent experience in retail or outpatient pharmacy settings
• Active and clear Iowa pharmacist license
• Strong knowledge of pharmacy operations, inventory management, and patient communication
