Outpatient Pharmacist - Le Mars, Iowa

A retail pharmacist opportunity is available in Le Mars, IA, within a 340B retail pharmacy located inside a critical access hospital. This role involves working closely with a small pharmacy team consisting of one pharmacist and two technicians to provide outpatient medication services. The pharmacy handles around 140 prescriptions per day, operating on a Pioneer pharmacy computer system without automation support.

Schedule/Hours:

• Monday to Thursday: 8:00 AM – 6:30 PM
• Friday: 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
• On-call duties possible but occur rarely

Key Responsibilities:

• Accurately prepare and dispense prescriptions in accordance with state and federal regulations
• Provide expert medication counseling and support to outpatient and retail patients
• Collaborate with pharmacy technicians to maintain efficient workflow
• Manage pharmacy operations within a 340B program setting, ensuring compliance and accuracy
• Utilize the Pioneer computer system for prescription processing and record-keeping

Qualifications / Desired Experience:

• Minimum of 1 year recent experience in retail or outpatient pharmacy settings
• Active and clear Iowa pharmacist license required
• Strong attention to detail and excellent communication skills
• Ability to work effectively in a small team environment without PRN pharmacist backup
