Para Professional in Saint Paul, MN

Support the educational journey of students in a high-needs focus classroom located near Saint Paul, MN. This contract position provides the opportunity to make a positive impact and work closely with students and educators in a supportive environment. You’ll be assisting teaching staff and ensuring students' needs are met in an inclusive, encouraging setting.

Qualifications and Desired Experience:

• At least two years of college credits from an accredited institution, an associate degree or higher, a passing score on an approved formal academic assessment (ParaPro, ParaPathways, The Master Teacher), or meeting the competencies on the MDE approved competency grid.
• PCA certificate (or willingness to complete it—training is free and takes less than an hour).
• At least 1 year of experience working with school-aged children in a professional setting is required.
• 2+ years of school-based paraprofessional experience is preferred.
• Ability to support students with varying needs in a classroom setting.
• Strong communication, patience, and adaptability in dynamic environments.

Responsibilities:

• Work directly in a high-needs focus classroom, supporting both educational and behavioral goals.
• Collaborate with teaching staff to implement instructional plans.
• Assist students with daily activities, helping them access curriculum and classroom resources.
• Support classroom management and create a positive, inclusive atmosphere.
• Provide encouragement and assistance to students throughout the school day, from 8:45 am to 4:00 pm.
