Make a meaningful impact by supporting a kindergarten student with visual impairment in a caring, educational setting. This contract position offers a unique opportunity to work closely with a dedicated team of educators in a part-time, one-on-one role.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide individualized assistance to a kindergarten student with visual impairment during morning classroom activities
• Ensure student safety throughout the school environment, both in and outside the classroom
• Support braille learning activities and materials, following guidance from the vision specialist and RSP teacher
• Assist with mobility, classroom transitions, and basic academic tasks as directed
• Help foster independence and confidence for the student within a nurturing framework
• Communicate regularly and effectively with classroom teachers, specialists, and school staff regarding progress and needs

Preferred Qualifications & Experience:

• Previous experience as a paraprofessional or in a similar educational support role is highly desirable
• Familiarity with supporting students with visual impairments or willingness to learn and adapt quickly
• Basic understanding of braille or readiness to receive on-the-job training to assist with braille materials
• Ability to maintain a positive and patient demeanor when working with young children
• Demonstrated flexibility and collaboration skills when working as part of an educational team
• High school diploma or equivalent required; additional relevant coursework or certifications is a plus

This part-time assignment runs from 7:55am to 11:30am, Monday through Friday, and provides a pay rate of $23+ per hour.
