Special Education Teacher | Lakewood, New Jersey

Empower students and make a meaningful impact as a Learning Disabilities Teacher-Consultant (LDTC) in a supportive educational setting near the Lakewood, NJ area. This contract position offers the chance to work full time at a high school, providing specialist guidance and facilitating student success. The role begins as soon as possible and extends through June 2027, ensuring long-term stability and the opportunity to form meaningful connections with students and staff.

Key Qualifications:

• Valid LDTC certification required
• Experience as a Special Education Teacher or LDTC preferred
• Strong background in case management and educational evaluation
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills
• Commitment to supporting students with diverse learning needs

Primary Responsibilities:

• Serve as the case manager for assigned students, ensuring their educational plans are tailored and up to date
• Conduct comprehensive evaluations and assessments to determine student needs and eligibility
• Collaborate with teachers, parents, and related service providers to develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
• Maintain accurate and thorough documentation according to school and state requirements
• Consult with staff to develop instructional strategies and accommodations
• Support transition planning and skill-building for high school students

Role Details:

• Full-time position; hours are 7:15 AM – 1:50 PM
• Assignment located at a single high school site with a focused caseload
• Responsible for both day-to-day case management and testing
• Serve students primarily in high school age groups
