Special Education Teacher - Glendale, Arizona

This full-time role, based at a school near Glendale, AZ, runs from ASAP through late May and focuses on empowering learners through evidence-based instruction, social-emotional skill-building, and targeted individualized supports.

Qualifications & Required Experience:

• Valid Arizona Secondary Teaching License (Standard)
• Current K-12 Special Education Certificate
• IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card
• Demonstrated self-contained classroom experience
• Strong background working with students with emotional disabilities and varied exceptionalities
• Experience supporting students with at-risk backgrounds, limited English proficiency, or culturally diverse needs
• Knowledge of developing and implementing Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) and documentation compliant with federal/state/district guidelines
• Completion of Essential Element of Effective Instruction (E.E.E.I.) training, or willingness to participate in required staff development

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead a dedicated self-contained classroom, providing differentiated instruction and proactive behavioral supports to students requiring specialized services
• Foster the development of prosocial behaviors and self-regulation
• Adapt curriculum and tailor interventions for a range of learning and behavioral challenges
• Collaborate with general education staff, support personnel, families, and related service providers
• Ensure all special education documentation is current, thorough, and legally compliant
