Pharmacy Technician in Ventura, CA

Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) certification and 1+ years Pharmacy Technician experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

This opportunity is for a Pharmacy Technician to support a busy 250-bed inpatient hospital setting. The position requires a professional with strong clinical pharmacy technician skills to ensure safe and efficient medication preparation and distribution.

Location: Ventura, CA
Setting: 250-bed inpatient hospital
Schedule:

• Variable days and afternoon shifts
• Every other weekend on call
  Start Date: ASAP
  Duration: Long-term contract

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare sterile and non-sterile compounded medications accurately and according to protocols
• Restock automated dispensing units (Pyxis) throughout the hospital
• Handle incoming phone inquiries to the pharmacy, providing timely and accurate information
• Collaborate with pharmacy staff and healthcare teams to support patient care needs
• Maintain compliance with hospital and regulatory standards

Desired Experience and Qualifications:

• Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) credential preferred
• Experience in an inpatient hospital pharmacy setting, especially with sterile compounding
• Familiarity with automated dispensing systems such as Pyxis
• Strong communication skills to effectively field calls and interface with clinical staff
• Ability to work flexible shifts including weekends
