Special Education Teacher - Springfield, Vermont

Embark on a rewarding contract opportunity supporting elementary-age students as a dedicated Special Education Teacher. Based in the scenic area near Springfield, VT, this long-term assignment runs from October 19, 2026, to June 14, 2027, with a commitment of 35 hours per week.

This position involves working collaboratively within a team of four educators specializing in supporting students with learning disabilities in reading, writing, and math, as well as students with high-functioning Autism. You'll have the assistance of PT/OT professionals to deliver a holistic and inclusive learning environment in a Learning Disability Support (LDS) classroom.

Qualifications Sought:

• Valid Vermont professional teaching license with one or more of the following:
  • Special Educator Endorsement
  • Special Education Consulting Teacher Endorsement
  • Intensive Special Education Teacher Endorsement
• Experience supporting elementary-age children, especially those with diverse learning needs
• Comfort working as part of a multidisciplinary team
• Successful completion of fingerprinting requirements (reciprocity for recent assignments may apply)

Responsibilities Include:

• Designing and implementing individualized education plans (IEPs)
• Adapting curriculum and instruction for students with varying abilities
• Collaborating daily with fellow special education teachers and PT/OT staff
• Maintaining diligent student records and documenting progress
• Creating a supportive, engaging, and structured classroom atmosphere
