Senior Accountant- Calverton, NY | Full-time| $80,000 - $100,000/ year | Monday- Friday 

Riverhead Building Supply is a family-oriented building supply company with 800+ employees across Long Island, Connecticut, Rhode Island, and Massachusetts. We're growing, and we're looking for a Senior Accountant to own key accounting functions and build a long-term career with us.

For NYS transparency, the expected salary range is $80,000 - $100,000 per year. Actual compensation will be commensurate with experience and in compliance with applicable laws.

Job Description

 

What You'll Do: 

 

You'll play an important role in maintain accurate financial records, support reporting and helping the accounting team operate efficiently.

• Perform general ledger account analysis and bank reconciliations.
• Prepare financial statements and supporting documentation.
• Take ownership of monthly workpapers and ensure they are completed accurately and on time.
• Prepare commission calculations and related reports.
• Assist with additional accounting projects and responsibilities as needed.
• Work collaboratively with the accounting team to meet deadlines and maintain high-quality standards.
• Apply strong analytical skills and close attention to detail to ensure accuracy.
• Proactively establish checks and balances to identify discrepancies and maintain the integrity of financial information

Qualifications

Senior Accountant

 

What You Bring:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting required.
• Strong Microsoft Excel skills.
• At least 2 years of public accounting experience preferred.
• CPA designation preferred, not required.
• Experience with ERP/CSD systems or QuickBooks is a plus.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
• A detail-oriented approach, sound judgment, and the ability to manage deadlines independently.
• A collaborative mindset and clear communication skills.
