Job Description
About the Role

Join an autonomy engineering team building software for autonomous maritime vehicles. You will develop and deploy vehicle autonomy capabilities that operate on physical hardware, helping expand what these systems can safely do.

What You'll Do
  • Design, implement, and deploy production autonomy software in C++ for onboard vehicle systems.
  • Develop and integrate perception, localization, state estimation, planning, navigation, decision-making, and collision or terrain avoidance algorithms.
  • Integrate radar, camera, and other sensor data for situational awareness and path planning.
  • Build and maintain local and global planners that use maps and sensor data to guide routes and vehicle behavior.
  • Balance accuracy, robustness, computational cost, latency, and reliability on constrained onboard compute, including Nvidia Jetson platforms.
  • Validate vehicle behavior using simulation, testing, telemetry, and real-world data, and build tools, often in Python, to investigate failures and improve development workflows.
  • Contribute to the architecture and ongoing development of the autonomy stack.
What We're Looking For
  • At least 5 years of autonomy engineering or robotics software experience, with experience operating at staff-level scope.
  • A bachelor's degree and a background in robotics, autonomous systems, aerospace, or defense technology.
  • Strong C++ skills and experience shipping autonomy software on physical vehicles or other hardware systems.
  • Knowledge of autonomy algorithms, including computer vision, sensor fusion, localization, tracking, motion planning, path finding, controls, and decision-making under uncertainty.
  • Experience with embedded systems, sensor integration, and testing and deploying software on hardware. Familiarity with ROS, Linux, simulation, GPU computing, or real-time operating systems is valuable.
  • Strong troubleshooting and debugging skills, along with Python experience for development tools.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen or Green Card holder and eligible to work on ITAR-controlled programs.
