Have an electrical background and want to grow in project management?
Join the powerhouse electrical distributor serving the construction, industrial, and national account markets! We’re looking for an Associate Project Manager to support one of our fastest-growing national accounts: a manufacturing customer with large, phased projects and high-volume ongoing material needs.
At Loeb Electric, we’re more than just a distributor—we are the driving force that keeps innovation illuminated and businesses powered. We pride ourselves on being dedicated to our values:
- People: Encouraging the success of our people.
- Trust: Building relationships among ourselves, customers, vendors & other partners.
- Commitment: Continuously striving to deliver high-quality, measurable results.
- Innovation: Providing ideas & solutions for our customers.
What we're looking for:
The Associate Project Manager (APM) supports the planning, coordination, and execution of projects and day-to-day operations for one of Loeb's fastest-growing national accounts, a manufacturing customer with large-scale, phased projects and high-volume ongoing material needs. The APM keeps the account team organized and focused on the right priorities, ensures order and data accuracy, and maintains proactive communication with internal teams, customers, and manufacturers. Electrical product knowledge and experience are required for this role.
This developmental role is designed for individuals with an electrical background who are building project management skills. Working under the guidance of leadership, the APM gains hands-on experience in project execution, prioritization, risk management, and customer communication, building the judgment needed to progress into a Project Manager role.
What you will be doing as a key player on our dynamic team:
- Supports the day-to-day execution of projects and orders for an assigned national account under the guidance of leadership.
- Helps organize and prioritize daily workload across the account support team, keeping the most time-sensitive orders and projects moving.
- Supports planning for phased projects by coordinating material deliveries with customer-provided schedules and timelines.
- Oversees and actively supports order entry, material verification, and schedule updates to ensure accuracy and alignment with customer expectations.
- Identifies potential product substitutions when preferred products are unavailable due to extended lead times or capacity constraints, coordinating technical validation and customer approval with Account Executive before changes are made.
- Reviews quotes, purchase orders, and change requests to ensure part numbers, quantities, and pricing are accurate.
- Coordinates with purchasing, warehouse, logistics, and manufacturers on lead times, expedites, and deliveries.
- Supports the customer's stocking program by monitoring inventory availability against forecasted needs and identifying additional stocking needs, in partnership with the Account Executive.
- Supports tracking of costs, profit, change orders, and billing accuracy.
- Participates in and/or leads scheduled customer calls, internal huddles, and reviews; resolves project-level issues with urgency.
- Maintains accurate project documentation, and records to support visibility, reporting, and customer requirements.
- Tracks and reports order progress, shipping performance, and order accuracy using Smartsheet, Excel, and the ERP system.
- Proactively identifies risks such as delays or supply constraints and clearly understands when to escalate to leadership.
- Manages account operational activities, including documentation, issue resolution, and lessons learned.
- Identifies and supports process improvement opportunities to enhance on-time delivery, accuracy, and customer satisfaction.
