PeopleShare is seeking a dependable and mechanically inclined Assembler I for a growing manufacturing company in Virginia Beach. This is a hands-on production role ideal for individuals who enjoy working with tools, following detailed instructions, and building quality products in a team-oriented environment.
This is a full-time, onsite, temp-to-hire opportunity with long-term growth potential.
Responsibilities - Assemble mechanical components and parts according to work instructions and specifications
- Review assembly documents, process sheets, and Bills of Material (BOMs)
- Verify all required materials and components are available before assembly
- Utilize hand tools, pneumatic tools, and other assembly equipment
- Position, align, and install components accurately
- Take measurements and verify dimensions using measuring instruments
- Troubleshoot minor assembly issues and perform basic adjustments as needed
- Inspect completed assemblies to ensure quality standards are met
- Complete production and quality documentation accurately
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
- At least 1 year of manufacturing or production experience required
- Previous assembly, mechanical, automotive, maintenance, or trade-related experience preferred
- Experience using hand and pneumatic tools strongly preferred
- Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to follow detailed instructions
- Experience using calipers, micrometers, feeler gauges, or other measuring tools is a plus
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing quality work
- Ability to perform repetitive tasks in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
- Ability to stand for extended periods and occasionally lift up to 50 lbs.
- High School Diploma or GED required
- Safety footwear required
- Safety glasses required
- Company-provided uniforms
- Additional hearing and hand protection provided as needed
