Server

Kinston Country Club is seeking a friendly, dependable Server to provide attentive food and beverage service to our members and guests. This position supports daily dining, banquets, and special events while creating a welcoming atmosphere and maintaining the club’s service standards.

Essential Responsibilities

• Greet members and guests warmly and provide courteous, professional service.

• Learn member names and preferences to create a personalized dining experience.

• Explain menu items, daily specials, and beverage selections accurately.

• Take food and beverage orders and enter them correctly into the club’s point-of-sale system.

• Communicate allergies, dietary restrictions, and special requests to the kitchen and confirm instructions before serving.

• Serve food and beverages promptly and check back to ensure satisfaction.

• Monitor tables, refill beverages, clear dishes, and anticipate service needs.

• Verify member account information and process charges and payments accurately.

• Set, clean, and reset tables; maintain organized dining areas and service stations.

• Complete opening and closing duties, including stocking supplies and polishing silverware.

• Assist with banquet and special-event setup, service, and cleanup.

• Follow food safety, sanitation, and responsible alcohol service procedures, including checking identification when required.

• Address concerns courteously and involve a supervisor when needed.

• Work cooperatively with kitchen, bar, and service staff.

• Protect member privacy and handle account information discreetly.

Qualifications

• Previous restaurant, banquet, or country club service experience is preferred; training is available.

• Strong communication skills and a friendly, professional manner.

• Ability to multitask, follow instructions, and remain composed during busy service periods.

• Dependable attendance, punctuality, and attention to detail.

• Willingness to learn menus, service procedures, and the point-of-sale system.

• Availability for scheduled shifts, including evenings, weekends, holidays, and special events.

• Must meet applicable age requirements for assigned alcohol service duties.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.

• Ability to carry and balance trays, plates, and beverages safely.

• Ability to bend, reach, and lift or move supplies weighing up to 25 pounds, with assistance as needed.

• Ability to perform essential job duties with or without reasonable accommodation.
