WHAT YOU'LL DO AS A DEPUTY SHERIFF

No two days are the same.

Deputy Sheriffs perform a variety of critical public safety responsibilities while helping maintain the safe and professional operation of the Sheriff's Office.

Responsibilities May Include:

• Supervising and ensuring the safety and security of inmates

• Processing and classifying inmates entering the facility

• Maintaining courtroom security as a Bailiff

• Transporting inmates safely and professionally

• Serving civil process and court orders

• Conducting facility inspections and security checks

• Monitoring operations through security and surveillance systems

• Responding to emergencies and critical incidents

• Providing first aid and CPR when needed

• Participating in community outreach and public safety initiatives

REQUIREMENTS

• Must be a citizen of the United States.
• Requires an acceptable background check and acceptable credit check.
• Meet all federal, state and local requirements to carry a firearm.
• Have never been dishonorably discharged from any of the armed forces of the United States.
• Requires a valid drivers license with an acceptable driving record.
• Have a High School Diploma or GED Certificate.
