Welder (FCAW) 1st Shift

Ameri-Force is hiring Welders for a leading steel pressure pipe manufacturer in Palatka, FL. Youll inspect, finish and repair welded steel cylinders used in large-diameter pressure pipe for water transmission, sewer and penstock systems. This role suits a hands-on welder who takes pride in quality work and wants steady hours with overtime opportunities.

Schedule

1st shift
Overtime and Saturdays based on production needs

What Youll Do

Perform weld repairs to applicable specifications
Back gouge and back weld
Cut with oxy-acetylene
Grind and finish welded surfaces
Inspect welds and identify defects
Measure and document repairs accurately
Follow all safety rules, policies and procedures
Maintain quality and production standards

What You Need

FCAW welding experience
Ability to pass a 3G FCAW weld test with back gouge and back weld
Ability to produce welds that consistently meet quality and inspection standards
Ability to read and follow work instructions, measurements and specifications
Ability to work safely in a manufacturing environment

Nice to Have

SMAW (stick) experience
SAW (SubArc) experience

Work Environment
This is a hands-on manufacturing position in an industrial environment. The work area may be loud, dusty and not air-conditioned. You must be able to:

Lift up to 50 pounds
Climb ladders and work at heights
Stand, bend, kneel and work in various positions for extended periods
Work safely around welding equipment, machinery and other industrial equipment

The Weld Test
Qualified applicants will complete an on-site weld test as part of the hiring process.

Pay:

$22.00$24.00/hr, based on experience and weld test results
Overtime at time-and-a-half when available
