Production TechnicianJob Summary

Production Technicians build diesel-powered and electrical-powered units, including engines and generators. This is a hands-on manufacturing role involving complete assembly from the ground up rather than assembly-line production. Employees work from blueprints, diagrams, and drawings to assemble and test units while maintaining quality and safety standards.

Technicians are cross-trained in multiple production areas to support workflow and maintain productivity when material shortages or production demands arise.

Key Responsibilities

• Assemble diesel and electrical-powered engines and generators from the ground up.
• Read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, and technical drawings.
• Install, assemble, and inspect mechanical and electrical components.
• Perform manufacturing and assembly tasks according to engineering specifications.
• Troubleshoot and resolve assembly issues as needed.
• Maintain quality standards throughout the production process.
• Utilize hand tools, power tools, and assembly equipment safely and effectively.
• Support multiple production lines through cross-training.
• Follow all safety procedures and manufacturing guidelines.
• Assist with testing and verification of completed units.

Qualifications

Required

• Experience in industrial manufacturing or production environments.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and diagrams.
• Mechanical and/or electrical assembly experience.
• Strong attention to detail and quality.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Preferred

• Diesel Technology education or experience.
• Experience working on diesel generators.
• Experience working on electrical generators.
• Engine repair experience.
• Generator repair experience.
• Industrial electrical equipment experience.

Work Environment

• Shift: 6:00 AM - 2:30 PM
• Overtime may begin as early as 5:00 AM and extend until 3:30 PM.
• Occasional voluntary Saturday half-day shifts during peak production periods.
• Overtime should be expected during busy seasons and periods of increased demand.
• Large industrial manufacturing facility.
• Not climate controlled.
• Facility utilizes large bay doors, fans, and heaters.
• Working conditions can be hot during summer months and cold during winter months.

This is a Contract position based out of Saint Louis, MO.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $27.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
