Utility Packer - URGENT HIRING - Up To 17/hr - Now Hiring

The Production Associate (Utility Packer) works on a high-volume packaging line handling frozen vegetables. In this contract-to-hire role, you sort, bag, box, and package frozen products while maintaining quality, safety, and sanitation standards in a refrigerated production environment.

• Work on a fast-paced packaging line to dump, pack, and stack frozen products according to production requirements.
• Sort, bag, box, and package frozen vegetables into designated containers and packaging formats.
• Pack products into correctly labeled cases, ensuring accuracy of labels and packaging for shipment.
• Perform visual inspection of products to identify and remove blemishes, defects, and any foreign materials.
• Carry out sanitation tasks on all packing lines to maintain a clean and hygienic production area.
• Follow all Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), safety procedures, operational guidelines, and sanitation programs at all times.
• Maintain awareness of quality standards and participate in quality assurance checks on items being packed.
• Work effectively in a cold, wet refrigerated environment while maintaining productivity and safety.
• Lift up to 50 pounds as needed to move product, cases, or materials on the line.
• Collaborate with team members and supervisors to meet production goals and efficiency targets.
• Adhere to schedule requirements, including working until relieved at the end of each shift.
• Participate in orientation and training activities, including policy review, training modules, and facility tours.

• At least 23 months of packing or production experience in a fast-paced environment.
• Experience with general labor and production work, including handling and moving products on a line.
• Ability to perform packing tasks so products can be accurately weighed, sealed, and prepared for shipment.
• Experience with sorting and packaging in a warehouse or production setting.
• Understanding that quality assurance is a shared responsibility, with the ability to perform necessary quality checks on each item.
• Ability to work efficiently in a high-speed production environment while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail.
• Capability to work in a cold, wet refrigerated environment for the duration of the shift.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds safely when required.
• Reliable attendance and the ability to follow established policies, safety rules, and GMPs.
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, and perform repetitive motions throughout the shift.

• Prior experience in warehouse packing or food packaging is beneficial.
• Familiarity with basic production and packaging equipment and conveyor systems.
• Comfort working with standardized procedures and meeting production and quality targets.
• Willingness to learn and follow detailed operational and sanitation programs.
• Strong teamwork skills and the ability to communicate effectively with coworkers and supervisors.
• Orientation participation, including policy review, training videos, and facility tour.
• Commitment to maintaining a clean, organized, and safe work area.

The role is based in a refrigerated production facility with a wet and cold environment, typically maintained at approximately 3540 degrees in the production area. Work is performed on a fast-paced packaging line with conveyor systems, handling frozen vegetables and packaged products. Three shifts are available: first shift runs from 6:45 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. (or until relieved), Monday to Friday, with potential work on Saturday; second shift runs from 2:45 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. (or until relieved), Monday to Friday, with potential work on Saturday; third shift runs from 10:45 p.m. to 7:00 a.m. (or until relieved), Sunday to Thursday, with potential work on Friday. Employees receive two 20-minute breaks per shift. Orientation typically runs from 8:00 a.m. to approximately 2:30 p.m., covering policies, training videos, and a comprehensive facility tour. The dress code requires safety composite shoes with slip-resistant soles, long pants with no rips, and no jewelry. Employees should be prepared for continuous standing, movement, and manual handling in a cold, wet environment while following all safety and sanitation guidelines.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Lebanon, PA.

The pay range for this position is $15.00 - $17.00/hr.
