Job Overview
We are seeking compassionate and dependable Residential Counselors to provide direct support to individuals in a residential setting in Patterson, NY. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys helping others, building positive relationships, and creating a safe and supportive living environment.
As a Residential Counselor, you will assist residents with daily routines, encourage independence, and provide guidance and support based on individual needs and goals.

Residential Counselor Responsibilities:

• Provide direct support and supervision to residents during assigned shifts

• Assist with daily living activities and household routines

• Encourage independence, personal development, and community participation

• Follow individualized care plans, support plans, and program guidelines

• Monitor resident safety and respond appropriately to concerns or changing needs

• Complete required documentation and shift reports accurately

• Assist with meal preparation, housekeeping, and maintaining an organized residence

• Communicate effectively with coworkers, supervisors, and members of the care team

• Follow all health, safety, confidentiality, and program procedures

Qualifications & Skills:

• Previous experience in residential care, human services, behavioral health, direct support, or caregiving preferred

• Compassionate, patient, and dependable approach to supporting others

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills

• Ability to follow care plans, procedures, and written instructions

• Comfortable working independently and as part of a team

• Ability to remain professional and calm in challenging situations

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred

• Flexibility to work assigned shifts, including weekends as needed
