Veterinary Receptionist

Vienna Animal Hospital is seeking a full-time Veterinary Receptionist, also known as a Client Service Specialist, to join our dedicated reception team. Located in Vienna, VA, our seven-doctor, AAHA-accredited hospital relies on this role to support front-desk and client service operations, coordinate high-volume appointments, and perform office duties related to patient care and treatment. The position includes Saturday hours and may require extended periods of standing and occasional heavy lifting.

Responsibilities

• Manage front-desk and client service operations with professionalism and courtesy.
• Coordinate high-volume appointments and support efficient patient flow.
• Answer telephone calls using excellent etiquette and assist clients with inquiries.
• Complete forms, reports, and other office documentation accurately.
• Handle payments and perform basic financial transactions.
• Assist the Hospital Manager and doctors as needed.
• Respond calmly and appropriately to difficult situations, including emergencies.
• Follow hospital procedures and protocols while maintaining accurate records.

Required Qualifications

• At least 2 years of veterinary reception experience.
• Excellent oral, written, and telephone communication skills.
• Working knowledge of English language and written communication.
• Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office and email.
• Strong organizational, typing, time-management, and multitasking skills.
• Ability to handle payments and perform basic financial tasks.
• Ability to remain calm under pressure and manage difficult situations.
• Ability to work effectively in a team and fast-paced environment.
• Professional, flexible, detail-oriented, and willing to learn.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with VetCove.
