Sorting Machine Operator

Broadridge Financial Solutions is a global Fintech leader providing critical infrastructure that powers investing, corporate governance, and communications. We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Sorting Machine Operator to join our Lake Success operations team and support accurate, efficient mail and document processing.

Job Summary

The Sorting Machine Operator will set up, operate, and monitor sorting equipment used to process high volumes of mail and financial documents. This role requires attention to detail, mechanical aptitude, and the ability to meet production and quality standards in a fast-paced operations environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Set up and operate sorting machines according to production schedules and job specifications.
• Load materials into machines and monitor output for accuracy and quality.
• Perform basic troubleshooting and minor adjustments to keep equipment running efficiently.
• Inspect sorted materials for damage, misreads, or processing errors.
• Maintain production records and complete required paperwork accurately.
• Follow all safety procedures and wear required protective equipment.
• Keep workstations and equipment clean and organized.
• Coordinate with team members and supervisors to meet daily production goals.
• Report equipment malfunctions or quality issues to maintenance or leadership.
• Assist with other mailroom or production tasks as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Previous experience operating sorting, mailroom, production, or warehouse equipment is preferred.
• Basic mechanical aptitude and comfort working with machinery.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced production environment.
• Reliable attendance and punctuality.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Willingness to work flexible shifts, including overtime or weekends as needed.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand for extended periods.
• Ability to lift and move materials up to 50 pounds as needed.
• Ability to bend, reach, and perform repetitive tasks.
• Comfort working around moving machinery and production equipment.

Compensation and Benefits

• Pay range: $20.00–$26.00 per hour, commensurate with experience.
