Job Description

About Us

At Vital Care, our mission is to improve the lives of patients and healthcare professionals through locally owned and operated infusion pharmacies across the country. Our ambulatory infusion center gives patients a comfortable, community-based alternative to hospital infusion with the personal attention they deserve.

The Role

We're looking for an experienced Nurse Practitioner to provide clinical oversight and advanced practice care in our AIC. You'll be the clinical anchor of the center, partnering with our referring providers, pharmacists, and our infusion nursing team to make sure every patient receives safe, evidence-based therapy. If you love infusion, enjoy autonomy, and want to help shape a growing program, this role is for you.

What You'll Do

  • Evaluate and manage patients with acute and chronic conditions treated with IV and injectable therapies, maintaining continuity of care with the referring provider.
  • Perform advanced assessments to confirm patient readiness for therapy, including vital signs, baseline labs, and pre-infusion screening
  • Complete medication reconciliation to identify interactions and contraindications.
  • Interpret labs and diagnostics and adjust treatment plans in collaboration with the prescriber.
  • Order and adjust premedications and reaction management per protocol, and lead the response to infusion reactions, including anaphylaxis.
  • Oversee vascular access care for PIVs, PICCs, and implanted ports, including troubleshooting.
  • Develop and follow evidence-based infusion protocols for biologics, IVIG, antimicrobials, and hydration therapies.
  • Educate patients and caregivers on what to expect, side effects, and post-infusion care.
  • Document accurately in the EMR in line with regulatory and payer requirements.
  • Champion infection prevention, safety and quality standards.
  • Support daily operations, including scheduling, documentation review, and patient follow-up.
  • Mentor and help train new clinical staff.

What You Bring

Required Qualifications

  • Active, unencumbered Texas RN license and Texas APRN license as a Nurse Practitioner with prescriptive Authority
  • Experience with IV therapy, vascular access, or specialty medicaitons in an infusion, ED, critical care, oncology, or similiar setting
  • Current BLS and ACLS
  • Comfort with technology, including EMRs and Microsoft Teams, and the ability to learn new systems quickly
  • Strong clinical judgement and a compassionate approach to patient education

Preferred

  • 1+ year of experience in an ambulatory infusion center or outpatient infusion setting
  • Experience administering IVIG and Biologics
  • AIC leadership or management experience
  • CRNI and or IgCN certification
  • Familiarity with prior authorization and payer documentation

New to Infusion? If you have a strong acute care or IV therapy background, we'll train the right candidate.
