Job Description

A rewarding opportunity awaits Speech-Language Pathologists passionate about making a difference for school-age students with diverse needs. This contract position, based at a dedicated education center near Sarasota, FL, focuses on supporting a unique group of learners from 4th grade through age 22. The assignment involves providing direct therapeutic services to a caseload of 24 students, with an additional 12 students receiving consultative support. Most classrooms serve six or fewer students, each supported by an aide, within a collaborative and supportive environment that includes a behavior specialist and a very engaged principal.

Schedule flexibility is available—whether you prefer your 17.5 hours spread across three six-hour days, four four-hour blocks, or five shorter days, arrangements can be made to suit your needs. There is also the potential for pairing with a nearby school if additional hours are desired. An experienced SLP is available on site to help with orientation, ensuring a smooth transition into this impactful role.

What You Bring:

  • Active Florida SLP license
  • Experience in a school setting (SLP-CCC or SLP-CFY)
  • Comfort working with students on ACCESS points (specialized curriculum)
  • Collaborative approach and a genuine passion for supporting students with varying communication needs
  • Ability to accept flexible scheduling and adapt to evolving caseloads

Your Responsibilities:

  • Provide speech and language therapy to assigned students (no case management duties)
  • Collaborate closely with aides, teachers, and behavior specialists
  • Document progress and maintain compliance with school and state requirements
  • Participate in team meetings and consult as needed for additional students

In this role, you’ll work in a welcoming environment that values your professional contributions and passion for student success. If you’re eager to empower learners and support a dynamic school community, complete your application today to take the next step in your journey as a school-based SLP!
