Per Diem Virtual Sign Language Interpreter | Nevada

Degree in American Sign Language (ASL) Interpreting, certified ASL Interpreter credentials, and 1+ year of experience as an ASL Interpreter in educational settings. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

A substitute position is available for a Sign Language Interpreter to provide telehealth and onsite interpreting services within a Nevada school district. The role involves delivering 1:1 interpreting for students and supporting current onsite interpreters as necessary. This per diem opportunity is based in Yerington, NV.

Key responsibilities:

• Provide effective sign language interpreting for students in educational settings.
• Support onsite interpreters with communication needs as required.
• Assist with telehealth interpreting when necessary.
• Maintain confidentiality and professionalism in all interactions.
• Collaborate with educational staff to facilitate communication access.

Qualifications and experience:

• Must be registered with the Communication Access Realtime Translation (CART) program or willing to apply immediately.
• Possess an Educational Interpreter Performance Assessment (EIPA) score of 4.0 or hold Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf (RID) certification.
• Candidates with an EIPA score of 3.5 or higher may be considered on a provisional basis.
• Experience working within educational or telehealth settings preferred.
