Data Center Technician

Insight Global is hiring Data Center Fiber Technicians to support a large-scale data center project in Temple, TX for Aptitude (JE Dunn). We are looking for experienced technicians with backgrounds in fiber connectivity, porting/patching, troubleshooting, and testing within data center or similar critical infrastructure environments. This is a hands-on role supporting network connectivity, fiber testing, auditing, and troubleshooting.

Location:  Temple, Texas 

Job Title:  Data Center Technicians 

Contract/Perm:  Contract until December 31 2026 BUT there is a strong chance of extensions or moving them to a new project on site 

Pay Rate: $25 - $40 (based on years of experience)

• All overtime work is double time pay! 

Interview Process: ONE ROUND INTERVIEW!

Shift:

• Day Shift: Approximately 6:30 AM–5:30 PM
• Night Shift: Approximately 4:30 PM–3:30 AM

REQUIRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE (we can take junior - senior candidates) 

• 3+ years of data center, fiber, low-voltage, or data infrastructure experience preferred
• Hands-on experience with fiber porting, patching, troubleshooting, or testing
• Knowledge of switches, switch ports, patch panels, SFPs, and pluggable optics
• Ability to read a port map or cable schedule and trace a connection from point A to point B
• Familiarity with fiber connectors such as LC and MPO/MTP
• Understanding of fiber polarity and Tx/Rx
• Knowledge of proper fiber inspection, cleaning, and handling procedures
• Experience working from trouble tickets, work orders, or audit tickets
• OTDR and fiber testing experience is highly preferred
• Experience with EXFO testing equipment or EXFO Exchange is a major plus
• Previous large-scale or hyperscale data center experience is preferred
• OSHA 10 certification or ability to obtain it prior to starting
