Special Education Teacher - Surprise, Arizona

You'll play a pivotal role in a self-contained classroom serving 1st to 3rd grade students with Autism and related characteristics, located at a single school site near Litchfield Park, AZ.

Key Qualifications:

• Valid Arizona Special Education Teacher certification
• IVP (Identity Verified Prints) Fingerprint Clearance Card required
• Experience working in self-contained classrooms, especially with students on the Autism spectrum, is highly preferred
• Strong classroom management abilities and a collaborative mindset
• Ability to adapt instructional strategies to diverse learning needs

Role Responsibilities:

• Lead a self-contained classroom with 7 students (expected to grow up to 12)
• Develop and implement individualized educational plans (IEPs) tailored to each student’s unique strengths and challenges
• Foster a positive, structured, and inclusive learning environment
• Maintain a 3:1 student-to-staff ratio with para support available as your caseload increases
• Collaborate closely with related service providers, families, and administrative teams
• Track and report student progress, adjusting plans as needed to promote growth
• Engage in ongoing professional development and maintain compliance with all regulatory requirements

This full-time, 40-hour per week position runs ASAP through the end of the school year, offering a chance to build lasting relationships with a small group of elementary students.
