Household Assistant / Family Helper (Tuesday-Thursday) Location: Katonah, NY Schedule: Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, 8:00 am-7:00 pm (33 hours/week, including paid downtime) Pay: $27 / hour = $900 / week Start date: Immediate About the Role We're a warm, busy family looking for a reliable, kind, and organized household assistant to keep our mornings and afternoons running smoothly three days a week. You'll help get our 4th grader out the door in the morning, then return for the after-school stretch of homework, chores, and dinner. Along the way, you'll care for our easygoing coonhound mix and keep the kitchen in good order. Your Day Morning (8:00-11:00 am) Make sure our 4th grader gets to school on time (9:07am), including breakfast and a packed lunch and snack Walk our dog (a mild-tempered coonhound mix) Light housekeeping: load the dishwasher and tidy the kitchen after breakfast and lunch prep Midday (11:00 am-3:00 pm) Paid downtime. You're welcome to rest, read, or do personal work quietly at the house or leave and return Afternoon and Evening (3:00-7:00 pm) Walk the dog Meet our child after school (3:45pm) and oversee snack time Supervise homework and assigned chores, including feeding the dog Prepare an easy meal and serve dinner Post-dinner kitchen clean up Supervise occasional playdates What We're Looking For Experience with children, ideally elementary-age, as a nanny, babysitter, teacher's aide, or similar Dependable, punctual, and comfortable following a routine Patient and positive, able to encourage a 9-10 year old with homework and chores Comfortable with dogs and confident handling daily walks Able to prepare simple, healthy meals Reliable transportation Non-smoker; references required; background check and clean driving record Nice to Have CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to get certified) Experience helping with homework What We Offer Consistent, predictable three-day schedule Paid midday downtime A friendly household and a sweet dog
