Emergency Room Nurse- Port Lavaca TX

Location                           : Port Lavaca TX 77979

Duration                          : 13 weeks

Shift                                   : Night shift 7P-7A

Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced Emergency Room (ER) Nurse to provide high-quality nursing care to patients in a critical access hospital emergency department. The ideal candidate will have strong emergency nursing skills, the ability to respond quickly to critical situations, and experience caring for patients with a variety of acute medical conditions.

Key Responsibilities

·         Assess, triage, and monitor patients presenting to the emergency department.

·         Provide emergency nursing care to patients with acute illnesses, injuries, and life-threatening conditions.

·         Administer medications and treatments in accordance with physician orders and established protocols.

·         Monitor patient conditions and promptly identify changes requiring immediate intervention.

·         Assist physicians and other healthcare professionals with emergency procedures.

·         Maintain accurate patient records using electronic medical record (EMR) systems.

·         Collaborate with the healthcare team to ensure timely, safe, and effective patient care.

·         Educate patients and families regarding treatment plans and discharge instructions.

·         Maintain compliance with hospital policies, safety standards, and infection prevention protocols.

Qualifications and Requirements

·         Current Registered Nurse (RN) license required.

·         Previous emergency department nursing experience preferred.

·         Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.

·         Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification required.

·         Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) or Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course (ENPC) certification required.

·         Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) certification required.

·         Experience with electronic medical record (EMR) systems preferred.

·         Ability to work independently and effectively in a fast-paced emergency care environment.
