Design Technician

Job Title: Design Technician
Location: Lafayette, CO (Onsite 4 days/week)
Duration: 12 Months | Hours: 40 hours/week

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Biomedical, Electrical, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related technical discipline.

• Minimum 4 years of relevant experience in mechanical design, engineering, or product development.

• Strong CAD modeling and engineering drawing skills, including GD&T.

• Hands-on experience building fixtures, conducting mechanical inspections/testing, troubleshooting issues, and documenting results.

• Ability to interpret and communicate technical design changes across cross-functional teams.

• Strong understanding of Design for Manufacturability (DFM) and the impact of design changes on manufacturing.

Key Responsibilities:

• Create and modify component/product designs using CAD tools such as SolidWorks, Siemens NX, CATIA, Creo/Pro-E, or similar.

• Prepare engineering drawings, layouts, sketches, and design proposals.

• Build test fixtures, perform mechanical testing and troubleshooting, analyze data, and prepare reports.

• Coordinate with engineering, manufacturing, tooling, and materials teams to ensure designs meet manufacturing and product requirements.

• Independently resolve technical issues, recommend design/process improvements, and support the Navigation product portfolio.
