Job Overview

Sigma Inc. is seeking a detail-oriented Manufacturing Visual Inspector for a 12-month contract opportunity in Fremont, California. This role supports pharmaceutical drug product manufacturing by performing visual inspections, following established standard operating procedures (SOPs), maintaining accurate production documentation, and ensuring compliance with current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP).

The ideal candidate has experience in a regulated manufacturing environment, strong attention to detail, and a commitment to product quality, safety, and right-first-time execution.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform routine manufacturing operations related to visual inspection of pharmaceutical drug products in a multi-product facility.

• Conduct visual inspections and advanced visual inspections following established training, procedures, and quality standards.

• Support palletizing, cleaning, inspection hood preparation, drug product filling, and packaging operations as needed.

• Execute batch records, maintain equipment use logs, coordinate logistics, and initiate and track work orders.

• Use computer-based manufacturing execution systems (MES), including BioMES, to document manufacturing activities and exceptions as trained.

• Follow standard operating procedures, manufacturing instructions, and applicable cGMP and cGDP documentation requirements.

• Report abnormalities, deviations, and quality concerns promptly and accurately.

• Maintain production areas according to established housekeeping and 5S standards.

• Support quality activities, including investigations, corrective actions, and area walkthroughs.

• Assist with manufacturing projects and the creation and maintenance of training documents and kits.

• Maintain required training and, once qualified, support the training of other technicians and associates.

• Follow all site safety requirements and promptly escalate unsafe conditions or practices.

Required Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.

• Minimum of one year of experience in a GMP-regulated industry.

• Strong attention to detail and the ability to concentrate during repetitive, precision-focused inspection tasks.

• Ability to read, understand, and follow SOPs and written work instructions.

• Ability to complete accurate written documentation in accordance with cGMP standards.

• Comfortable working with computer-based systems and manufacturing execution systems (MES).

• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

• Ability to collaborate effectively in a team-oriented manufacturing environment.

• Ability to read and see clearly and successfully complete required visual acuity and color vision testing.

• Ability to perform physical tasks associated with manufacturing operations, including lifting up to approximately 25 pounds, depending on the assigned activity.

Work Schedule and Conditions

• Shift: Second shift, 2:00 PM–10:30 PM

• Days: Monday–Friday

• Location: Onsite in Fremont, California

• Contract Duration: 12 months

• Physical Requirements: May include standing, handling manufacturing materials, and lifting up to approximately 25 pounds, depending on the work area.
