We are seeking a CAD Drafter experienced in SolidWorks to support our manufacturing engineering and operations teams. In this role, you will be responsible for:
We are seeking a CAD Drafter experienced in SolidWorks to support our manufacturing engineering and operations teams. In this role, you will be responsible for:
- Reviewing and managing legacy CAD models by incorporating Engineering Change Orders (ECOs)
- Generating 2D material pattern cut files for composite production
- Creating 3D geometries for simple tools and fixtures
- Maintaining CAD data integrity to standards
- The ideal candidate possesses experience working in a manufacturing environment, has some experience with composites fabrication, can interpret engineering drawings, and has hands-on understanding of CAD document management
Key Responsibilities
- 3D Modeling: Generate or modify detail-level 3D parts and assemblies in accordance with engineering drawings using SolidWorks.
- 2D Patterns: Generate or modify 2D flat patterns for composite ply cutting to LifePort drafting standards.
- CAD Data Management: Practice rigorous CAD file housekeeping and data management standards.
Required Qualifications & Skills
- Software Proficiency: Experience using SolidWorks or other CAD software.
- CAD Management: Experience managing CAD data structures, standard libraries, PDM workflows, or file organization systems.
- Drawing Interpretation: Experience in reading and interpreting complex multi-view engineering drawings, assembly diagrams, and technical specifications.
Preferred Qualifications
- Associate or Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Drafting, Mechanical Design Technology, or equivalent practical experience.
- Practical experience in 3D surface modeling in SolidWorks.
- Practical experience in tool, template, or fixture design for composites manufacturing.
- Experience in ASME Y14.5 drafting standards and geometric dimensioning and tolerancing principles.
- Familiarity with Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) or Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) systems integration
