Engineering / Drafting Specialist

Pay: $60,000 per year | Full-Time

Schedule: Monday–Thursday, 6:30 AM–5:00 PM. Mandatory Friday overtime may be required as needed.

Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced Engineering/Drafting Specialist with hands-on Microvellum software experience to prepare accurate shop drawings for review, approval, and fabrication. This role works closely with Project Management and Estimating to ensure drawings, material requirements, and production documents meet project specifications.

Responsibilities

Create and revise shop drawings using Microvellum and AutoCAD.
Review floor plans, elevations, construction details, and project specifications.
Ensure drawings meet applicable AWI standards and fabrication requirements.
Update drawings based on field-verified measurements and project changes.
Identify material requirements, limitations, and potential conflicts with other trades.
Collaborate with Project Managers and Estimating to resolve design and fabrication issues.
Optimize material cut lists and prepare work order packets for production.
Coordinate purchasing of inventory and project-specific materials.
Prepare as-built drawings for project closeout.
Maintain accurate and organized project documentation.

Qualifications

High school diploma or GED required.
Previous Microvellum software experience is specifically required.
AutoCAD experience required.
Understanding of AWI standards, construction methods, and fabrication processes.
Strong attention to detail, communication, organization, and time management skills.
