Welder/Fabricator

Job Summary

Responsibilities

• Perform welding tasks using various techniques such as MIG and TIG (95% MIG welding shop).
• Read and interpret blueprints and specifications to determine the appropriate welding process.
• Operate machinery and equipment including horizontal and vertical bandsaws, Ironworker, and various hand tools (drills, saws, grinders).
• Willing to learn or have manual mill experience.
• Fabricate metal structures or components based on project requirements.
• Conduct quality inspections to ensure welds meet industry codes and standards.
• Use forklifts and rigging equipment to move materials and finished products.

Qualifications

• 1 to 5 years of experience as a welder with a strong background in welding techniques; MIG, TIG, Manual Mill, and Fabrication.
• Ability to manipulate distorted parts to normality.
• Proficient in reading blueprints and technical drawings and complete tack weld.
• Knowledge of different types of metals and their properties.
• Familiarity with welding codes and standards.
• Ability to operate various machinery and equipment related to welding processes.
• Strong mechanical knowledge and understanding of fabrication techniques.
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to produce high-quality welds.
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot issues during the welding process.

Physical Requirements

• Frequently moves/lifts material up to 50 lbs.
• Must be able to remain in a standing position 50% of the time.
• Needs to frequently move between the Fabrication and Machining area.
• Operate machinery safely as needed.
• Frequent kneeling, bending, and crouching.

Schedule

This is a first shift position with hours from 7 AM to 4 PM, Monday to Friday. Overtime may be required on occasion.
