Workday Project Manager

We are seeking an experienced Senior Workday Project Manager to lead enterprise software implementation projects for public-sector clients. This role requires strong project management skills and hands-on functional knowledge across multiple Workday modules.

The ideal candidate will have experience managing complex implementations, coordinating technical and functional teams, and understanding how Workday modules integrate across business operations. This is a full-time, hybrid position based in Wilmington, DE, expected to last approximately three years with possible extension.

Responsibilities

• Lead Workday implementation projects from planning and requirements through testing, deployment, and post-implementation support.
• Manage implementation activities across multiple Workday modules, including Finance, HCM, Payroll, and Procurement.
• Work with government clients to understand business processes, identify requirements, and guide implementation decisions.
• Coordinate functional teams, technical resources, implementation partners, and vendors.
• Develop and maintain project plans, schedules, budgets, and deliverables.
• Monitor project progress, manage risks, resolve issues, and address cross-module dependencies.
• Oversee system integrations, data migration, testing, and go-live readiness.
• Lead project meetings, communicate progress, and provide updates to client leadership.
• Provide guidance and support to junior project management staff.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in business, accounting, finance, information technology, or a related field.
• 5+ years of project management experience leading enterprise software or ERP implementations.
• Hands-on Workday implementation experience across multiple functional modules, such as Finance, HCM, Payroll, or Procurement, with an understanding of system integrations and cross-module dependencies.
• Experience managing project budgets, schedules, risks, vendor deliverables, and implementation teams.
• PMP or CAPM certification required.
• Strong leadership and communication skills with the ability to manage projects independently.
• Ability to work a hybrid schedule in Wilmington, DE.
• Public-sector Workday implementation experience preferred.
• Experience with other ERP platforms, including Infor, OpenGov, or NetSuite, preferred.

Compensation

• $85–$115 per hour, depending on experience and Workday expertise.
• Higher compensation may be considered for exceptionally qualified candidates.
