Child Care Teacher

Job Summary

As a Child Care Teacher, you’ll create a safe, welcoming classroom where young children can learn, play, and grow. You’ll plan engaging activities that support early childhood education, literacy, math, physical development, and social-emotional skills. Your impact: Thoughtful teaching and responsive care help children build confidence and foundational skills while giving families clear insight into their child’s progress.

Duties

• Develop curriculum and lesson plans suited to children’s ages, interests, and developmental needs.
• Provide childcare and toddler care, lead learning activities, and support childhood development through play and instruction.
• Use positive behavior management and classroom management practices to maintain a safe, inclusive learning environment.
• Communicate regularly with parents about children’s progress, needs, and classroom experiences.
• Observe and document development; follow mandated reporting laws and child welfare procedures, and coordinate support for special education or early intervention needs.

Qualifications

• Experience working with children; teaching experience with young children, preschool teaching, preschool experience, or other classroom experience is valued.
• Knowledge of child development, literacy education, math instruction, and curriculum development; experience teaching physical education or working with students in private schools is a plus.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to plan lessons, teach, and manage a classroom.
• Current first aid and cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) certification, or willingness to obtain as required.
• Ability to pass both BCI and FBI background check.
• Familiarity with standardized testing, special education, early intervention, mandated reporting laws, and child welfare practices is an asset.
