Job Description
About the Role
EMA's electromagnetic effects scientists model how electromagnetic fields interact with aircraft, spacecraft, and ground systems. You would build the software they and our customers use to do it: user interfaces, and workflows that connect our solvers to the 3D modeling program Discovery. You will join a small development team, ship code that scientists use directly, and learn the physics as you go.
What You'll Do
- Build front-facing user interfaces for our scientists and customers
- Create object-oriented workflows so our software works with Discovery
- Write modular, concise, well-tested code
- Work closely with the rest of the development team to design and deliver software solutions
- Help improve existing tools and build new products that expand our software offerings
What We're Looking For
- BS in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field
- Little to some experience. Recent graduates are welcome. Salary depends on prior experience.
- Experience with a modern programming language, preferably C-based
- Working knowledge of Git
- Interest in engineering and science
- Willingness to ask questions and learn from the people around you
Our stack: C#, C++, and Fortran. Experience with other languages is a plus.
Why EMA
- Your code is used directly by EMA's scientists and customers
- Mentoring from senior developers and internationally recognized electromagnetics experts
- Exposure to aerospace and defense programs and to physics-based simulation
- A team of about 80, where your work is visible and your ideas are heard
- Professional development and room to grow
Details
- Location: Lakewood, CO, on-site five days a week
- Benefits: 401(k), health, dental, vision, and life insurance, paid time off, flexible schedule
- Pay range: $70,000 to $85,000 per year
