Job Description

Job Description

We are seeking skilled and detail-oriented Mill and Lathe Machinists to join our dynamic manufacturing team. In this role, you will be responsible for operating, setting up, and maintaining precision machining equipment to produce high-quality metal components. Your expertise will ensure that parts meet strict specifications and quality standards, contributing to the efficiency and success of our manufacturing processes. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work with advanced machinery and cutting-edge techniques in a fast-paced, safety-focused environment.

Responsibilities

  • Operate CNC (Computer Numerical Control) milling machines, lathes, grinders, and manual machining tools to produce precision metal parts according to blueprints and technical drawings.
  • Set up machines by installing tooling, calibrating equipment, and programming CNC G-code using Fanuc or similar control systems.
  • Interpret mechanical blueprints, GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing), and technical specifications to ensure accurate machining.
  • Utilize measurement tools such as calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, and dial indicators for precision measurement and quality control of finished parts.
  • Program CNC machines using CAM (Computer-Aided Manufacturing) software and M-code commands for efficient production runs.
  • Conduct machine maintenance, troubleshoot issues, and perform adjustments to optimize machining accuracy and productivity.
  • Follow lean manufacturing principles to minimize waste, improve workflow, and enhance overall operational efficiency.
  • Perform quality inspections on machined parts through CNC quality inspection techniques to verify adherence to specifications.
  • Maintain detailed documentation of setups, measurements, and inspection results for traceability and process improvement.

Experience

  • Proven experience operating CNC milling machines, CNC lathes, manual mills, grinders, or similar machining equipment in a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong knowledge of CNC programming languages such as G-code and M-code; familiarity with Fanuc controls is preferred.
  • Skilled in reading mechanical blueprints, CAD (Computer-Aided Design), SolidWorks files, and technical drawings for precise fabrication.
  • Hands-on experience with measurement instruments including micrometers, calipers, bore gauges, dial indicators, and other precision measuring tools.
  • Mechanical aptitude with a solid understanding of machining tools, tooling setup, machine calibration, and basic math skills for calculations related to machining tolerances.
  • Familiarity with electrical discharge machining (EDM), CAM programming software, and metalworking processes is a plus.
  • Ability to interpret mechanical blueprints accurately while adhering to GD&T standards for quality assurance.
  • Knowledge of lean manufacturing practices aimed at reducing waste while maintaining high standards of safety and efficiency.

Join our team as a Mill and Lathe Machinist if you thrive in a precision-driven environment where your skills directly impact product quality! We value safety-first practices while fostering a culture of continuous improvement—empowering you to grow your expertise in advanced manufacturing techniques every day!
