Warehouse Lead

General Labor Services is seeking an experienced and dependable Warehouse Lead to oversee daily warehouse operations, coordinate material handling activities, and support warehouse employees in a fast-paced building materials environment. The ideal candidate will help ensure accurate inventory management, efficient order fulfillment, safe equipment operation, and timely distribution of lumber, construction materials, and other building supplies.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and coordinate daily warehouse activities, including receiving, stocking, picking, packing, and shipping materials.
• Assign tasks to warehouse employees and monitor workflow to meet daily productivity goals.
• Oversee the loading and unloading of trucks and ensure materials are handled safely.
• Verify incoming and outgoing shipments for accuracy and completeness.
• Monitor inventory levels and assist with inventory counts and recordkeeping.
• Operate forklifts and other material-handling equipment as needed and authorized.
• Ensure customer orders are prepared accurately and delivered or dispatched on schedule.
• Train and support warehouse team members while promoting teamwork and accountability.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe warehouse environment.
• Enforce company safety procedures and proper material-handling practices.
• Communicate with management, drivers, and other departments to resolve operational issues.
• Identify opportunities to improve warehouse efficiency, productivity, and inventory accuracy.

Qualifications:

• Previous warehouse experience, preferably in a lead or supervisory role.
• Experience handling lumber, building materials, or construction supplies is a plus.
• Forklift operation and material-handling experience preferred.
• Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
• Ability to lift and move heavy materials as required.
• Ability to prioritize tasks, solve problems, and work in a fast-paced environment.
