Referral Coordinator - Now Hiring

Location: Miami, FL 33126
Pay: $20.00 per hour
Employment Type: Full-Time
Schedule: 100% onsite, 5 days per week, 8-5pm

A healthcare organization in Miami is seeking an organized, service-focused professional to help patients access specialty care. This position manages referrals from initial request through follow-up, keeping patient information, insurance approvals, and scheduling details accurate and on track.

Key Responsibilities

• Process specialty care referrals and maintain accurate documentation.

• Verify patient demographics, insurance coverage, and eligibility.

• Obtain required authorizations and coordinate additional clinical approvals.

• Work with patients, medical offices, and clinical teams to arrange appointments, testing, and transportation when needed.

• Keep patients informed about scheduling requirements and next steps.

• Track pending referrals, missing reports, and outstanding requests through completion.

• Enter referral and authorization information into electronic patient records.

• Protect confidential patient information and follow HIPAA requirements.

• Provide administrative support to help the referral process run smoothly.

Required Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.

• MUST have previous experience with medical referral coordination! 

• Familiarity with Microsoft Office.

• Strong attention to detail, organization, and follow-through.

• Clear communication skills and a professional, patient-focused approach.

• Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently.

• Familiarity with medical terminology.

Preferred Qualifications

• Medical Assistant training or certification.

• Experience using electronic health record systems.

• Familiarity with CPT, HCPCS, and ICD coding.

• MUST be Bilingual English/Spanish.
